This is not investment advice

Everything on Satovela is general education. It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice. It does not consider your personal situation. Every decision is yours. If you need advice, talk to a licensed professional where you live.

Prices can move fast

  • Crypto prices can rise or fall sharply within hours. Stocks can also drop a lot in a short time.
  • Past performance does not guarantee future results.
  • Stablecoins can lose their peg to the currency they track.

You can lose everything

A coin can go to zero. A company can go bankrupt. A project can be abandoned or turn out to be a fraud.

Exchange risks

  • Hacks: even large exchanges get hacked. Bitget (September 2026) and Binance (October 2026) were both hacked and paused withdrawals.
  • Account freezes: an exchange can freeze your account for verification, compliance checks or legal orders.
  • Insolvency: an exchange can fail, and funds held there may not be fully returned. Crypto held on an exchange is usually not covered by bank deposit insurance.
  • Service changes: an exchange can stop serving your country with little notice.

Leverage, futures and derivatives

Leverage multiplies both gains and losses. A position can be liquidated automatically, and you can lose your whole margin in minutes. Futures, options and similar products are not suitable for beginners.

Laws differ by country

Crypto rules vary by country and change often. Examples, as of our last check:

  • US and Canada: the exchanges we cover do not serve residents.
  • European Union: under MiCA, some exchanges stopped serving EU users from July 1, 2026, including Binance.
  • Brazil: Central Bank Resolutions No. 519, 520 and 521 took effect on February 2, 2026. Foreign providers had to apply for authorization.
  • Turkey: since July 2024, serving local residents requires a license from the Capital Markets Board (SPK). International versions of exchanges may not be available.
  • Vietnam: Resolution 05/2025 grants licenses only to Vietnamese companies. Decree 284, in force since September 1, 2026, requires investors to use exchanges licensed in Vietnam.
  • Indonesia: crypto trading is supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

You are responsible for checking and following the laws of your country, including tax reporting. If we explain how to use a service in a country that restricts it, you do so at your own risk: identity checks (KYC) may fail, deposits may be blocked and accounts may be frozen.

Watch out for scams

We never message you first. We never ask for passwords, seed phrases or 2FA codes, and we never manage anyone’s money. Anyone doing this in our name is a scammer.

Information can change

We work to keep our information correct, but fees and terms change. Always check the exchange’s official page before you act. See our terms of use.
